Life’s Meaningful Moments

Life Events at Anshe Tikvah

You need not celebrate or mourn alone.

At Anshe Tikvah, we believe that the milestones of our lives are sacred touchstones along our individual holy paths. As a "People of Hope," we are dedicated to providing a deeply supportive, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented community for every season of life. Whether you are rejoicing in a new beginning or seeking comfort in times of sorrow, our doors and hearts are open to you.

Pastoral Care with Wisdom and Sensitivity

What makes life cycle events at Anshe Tikvah truly unique is our holistic approach to spiritual support. Cantor Rabbi Rob Jury brings a rare and vital blend of deep rabbinic tradition and clinical expertise as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). This dual perspective allows us to offer pastoral care that is profoundly sensitive to the emotional and mental well-being of our community members.

At festive times and sorrowful times alike, Cantor Rabbi Jury and our community are here to ensure that your life cycle events are guided with compassion, meaning, and grace.

Baby Naming & Bris

Welcoming the Next Generation

There is no greater joy than welcoming a new life into the world and into the covenant of the Jewish people. We celebrate the arrival of infants with joyful, music-forward ceremonies that honor the uniqueness of your family. Whether at the synagogue, in your home, or at another venue, we work with you to create a warm, inclusive naming ceremony or Bris that beautifully roots your child in our shared heritage.

B'nai Mitzvah

A Milestone of Hope and Memory

The transition into Jewish adulthood is a powerful moment of discovery and self-expression. Our B'nai Mitzvah ceremonies are high-energy, deeply personal, and designed to center the student's voice. As a profound honor, our students read from our Holocaust Memorial Scroll (Orphan Scroll #1502), forging a living link between the lost communities of Straznice and Knezdub and the student's bright future. We take pride in creating accessible ceremonies that celebrate the achievements of students of all abilities and backgrounds.

Confirmation

Owning a Living Practice

As our teens continue their spiritual journey, the Confirmation ceremony marks their mature commitment to the living practice of progressive Judaism. This milestone celebrates their ongoing dedication to Tikkun Olam (healing the world), lifelong learning, and their expanding role as leaders and "Mitzvah Heroes" within our Kehilah Kedosha (Holy Community).
