Hebrew School Information 2024-25/5785
- Anshe Tikvah partners with eJewcate Me, an online Hebrew School, for its Hebrew program. Hundreds of videos are available for students to access to learn to read Hebrew, sound out prayers by syllable, read prayers fluently, learn the vocabulary of the prayers, learn key information about the prayers and master chanting of prayers.
- The benefits of utilizing eJewcate Me include:
- All lessons are online and available 24/7 to allow students to study and practice at times that work with their busy schedules.
- Students each learn at the pace that works for their needs. The program is individualized for students who benefit from working at a slower pace, students who master prayer learning quickly and all students in between.
- Students and parents are able to choose between Reform Judaism versions of prayers or Conservative Judaism versions of prayers when the versions differ from one another as they do, for example, in the Gevurot and Haftarah Blessings.
- Students can spend focused learning time on the specific material that they need, rather than what an entire class needs to work on.
- Tutoring times can be flexible to allow for a change in a student’s schedule and/or to work around a vacation or illness.
- All students are successful as they each receive 20 minutes of one-on-one time each week where they receive 100% of the tutor’s time.
In order to fully benefit from the Hebrew program and be successful in their Hebrew studies, students are required to practice reading, chanting and learning vocabulary with the online lessons for a minimum of 10 minutes, two to three times each week. Each student also has one twenty-minute one-on-one online tutoring session each week that is scheduled at a time that works for both the student and the tutor.
