Laura Frankel Bio
Ms. Frankel is a noted Chef, author, blogger, and media personality. She was the Culinary Director for Jamie Geller’s Test Kitchen and Kosher Network International. She is the founder of Shallots Restaurant in Chicago, Skokie, and New York, and served as Executive Chef for Wolfgang Puck and International Consultant for Wolfgang Puck Kosher. Frankel is the author of Jewish Cooking for All Seasons (Wiley) and Jewish Slow Cooker Recipes (Wiley). She writes for The Jerusalem Post, Eating Well magazine and is an avid blogger.Chef Laura is a passionate farmer’s market supporter, giving demonstrations and teaching classes all over the country featuring market produce.Chef Laura has cooked for many dignitaries, including Presidents Barack Obama, and George Bush, Vice President Al Gore, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senator Joseph and Hadassah Lieberman, Mikhail Gorbachev, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Steven Spielberg, Senator Hillary Clinton, Ivanka Trump, and many others.Laura was honored as an innovator in Modern Kosher Farm to Table Cuisine at the 25th anniversary celebration of Kosherfest in the fall of 2014. She was the only Female Chef/Author ever to be honored at Kosherfest.
