First High Holy Day services for new northwest suburban congregation open to public

Anshe Tikvah, a new Jewish congregation, serving the North and Northwest suburbs, will hold its first High Holy Days services, at Stevenson High School, One Stevenson Drive, Lincolnshire.

Spiritual leader Rob Jury, who is the post-denominational congregation's regular cantorial soloist, will conduct services on Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year, 5766) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).

At Jury's invitation, noted Rabbi/Cantor Shlomo Shuster, formerly of Ezra-Habonim/Niles Township Jewish Congregation, in Skokie, will participate in the Yom Kippur services. Cantor Sarah Alexander, who was trained by Shuster, will sing and play the cello during both holidays.

Services will be open to the public, but all who attend must have made advance arrangements to receive tickets.
